Abstract: Dialogus contra Iudаeos, the work of Petrus Alphonsi, a convert, is the work that defined the apologetic-polemical literary genre Adversus Iudaeos in the late Middle Ages. Dealing primarily with criticism of Judaism from a Christian theological perspective, he devoted one chapter (titulus) to Islam. Satisfying the curiosity of the intellectual elite of the West, his work became extremely popular throughout Christian Europe, paving the way for an increasingly complete Christian understanding of Islam. The aim of the paper is the analysis of the fifth chapter of Alfonsius’s work, that is, his presentation of the Islamic faith.

Key Words: Petrus Alphonsi, Islam, Dialogues, Cult of Kaaba, Christian apologetic and polemic literature.
