KSIO aims to support young researchers in the humanities, providing them with a platform to publish their work. Competition in established journals is often intense, and early-career researchers face difficulties in getting their papers accepted, as these journals tend to favor already recognized scholars. However, the work of young researchers, like that of established academics, is based on rigorous scientific methodology and thorough research. By offering this opportunity, we aim to foster academic development and ensure that the valuable contributions of emerging scholars receive the visibility they deserve. The journal envisions itself as a forum for young researchers worldwide who share a common interest in studying history and other humanities and social sciences.
KSIO publishes previously unpublished works: original research articles, review papers, book reviews, conference reports, and critical editions of sources that meet high academic standards. All submitted papers undergo evaluation by the editorial team and independent reviewers.
KSIO does not publish works that lack apparatus criticus and methodology, that are journalistic, or contain non-academic content. Papers that promote nationalist, racist, or other discriminatory concepts, as well as those containing hate speech, will not be published.
KSIO is published annually in electronic format, and papers are accepted in Serbian, English, or other languages such as German, French, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Russian, and the languages of the former Yugoslav countries. Mandatory sections, aside from the paper itself, include an abstract and keywords, which are published in English regardless of the language used in the article.
KSIO does not charge fees for submission, review, or publication.
KSIO is available in open access. Articles published in the journal can be freely downloaded from the journal’s website and used under the Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial NoDerivs 4.0 International license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/).
