The series was created by Nele Karajli\u0107, who began writing the screenplay during the height of the conflict. He aimed to craft a satirical portrayal of a potential resolution to the war. The narrative centers on a tavern under United Nations control, where stereotypical representatives of the various ethnic groups involved in the conflict are brought together. Through satire and humorous interactions, Karajli\u0107 highlights the absurdity of the Bosnian war, using the characters as embodiments of national stereotypes. The central plot revolves around a mysterious parcel delivered to the tavern, purportedly containing information about the causes of the war. In a symbolic turn, the characters&#8217; struggle to claim the package ends with its destruction in a nearby minefield, underscoring the futility and senselessness of the conflict. Beyond its critique of the local ethnic tensions, the series also expresses skepticism toward the European Union and the United Nations, referencing their repeated failures to enforce peace.
